JUNIPER APPLES

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon juniper berries ground
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 20 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven 350 degrees; lightly oil 2 baking sheets.
- Combine all ingredients in large bowl; spread out onto oiled baking sheets.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes; remove from oven.
- Sprinkle prepared topping, (recipe here http://deniseappel.com/recipes/crisp-topping
) over apples; continue baking for an additional 20-25 minutes until topping is golden brown.
