MARKET MENU SAFFRON ROASTED PLUMS

    Ingredients

    Instructions

    1. Add the saffron thread to the ¼ cup of hot water and let sit for 4-5 minutes.
    2. Cut the plums in half and remove the pit. Place them on a roasting dish. Add the saffron water, star anise, pink peppercorns, vanilla bean, orange juice and sprinkle each half plum with muscovado sugar, or granulated.
    3. Bake the plums at 350F for about 20-30 minutes until tender.
    4. Cut into ¼ wedges. Serve warm with either vanilla or ginger ice cream and toasted almonds.
